Carrie: Abby, thank you so much for agreeing to let me ask you questions today. I’m excited for all our users to get to know you. Let’s get right into it! Tell me a little bit about the direct sales company you represent?
Abby: Honey & Lace is a California based women’s apparel company. We focus to keep our prices affordable for any budget and we are proud to say that all of our Honey & Lace exclusive items are made in the USA.
Carrie: Why did you choose Honey and Lace, how long have you been doing this and where are you on the career path?
Abby: I chose to join Honey & Lace back in 2014 when my first child was 14 months young. I was a new mom, working my full time dream job in banking and caring for my new little family. I was looking for something to do to connect with other women and have a “get away” when I needed a mom break. Honey & Lace happened to cross my path and I thought the opportunity was something unique and amazing that I couldn’t pass up. The company was young, but growing. I instantly fell in love with the product and knew this was something I needed to be a part of. I saw the unique opportunity that if we decided to grow our family some more, this potentially could lead me to work from home while being a full time mom. After 8 years with the company I worked for, I quit my job in February 2016 to stay at home with my two children full time. I have now made my dreams a reality and work from home with my kiddos by my side!
Carrie: What do you love most about being a Honey and Lace Apparel Consultant?
Abby: The thing I lost most about being an apparel consultant with Honey & Lace is being able to relate and connect with other women. I understand juggling a busy work schedule, kids and activities; that as women, we sometimes forget to take of ourselves or put effort into making ourselves feel beautiful. My job as an apparel consultant is connecting with women and showing them how versatile Honey & Lace pieces can be and how to wear them for both work and play effortlessly and still look stylish and beautiful!
Carrie: What was your biggest concern when you started and how have overcome that?
Abby: My biggest concern when making the decision to work my business full time, was having the self discipline of “working” or actually working my business consistently. Working from home is tougher than I thought, not actually going to work and clocking in and out. I’ve got into a work routine/schedule at home and my husband helps out when mom needs to get some work done! It’s all about finding that balance. 🙂
Carrie: How did you find www.flourishapp.com?
Abby: A fellow colleague discovered it and shared it with me! We were on a mission to get away from tracking with spreadsheets. ha!
Carrie: How long have you been using Flourish?
Abby: I began using Flourish January 2017
Carrie: Do you feel as though it has been a benefit to your business and how so?
Abby: Yes! My biggest goal for 2017 was to get away from spreadsheet tracking and be more prepared for tax time the next year. Flourish has gotten me completely away from spreadsheet tracking and has electronicfied (is that a word!?) all my bookkeeping and inventory tracking pieces of my business. I can look things up with a few clicks of a button instead of digging through stacks of unorganized papers (you know what I’m talking about!).
Carrie: What advice would you give a new Flourish user?
Abby: Don’t put it off! Play around with it, find what works best for you and which pieces are most beneficial and allot yourself an hour or so each week to keep up with your books so you don’t fall behind. And ask these guys questions! They are great to work with and are there when you need it. Customer service is important, especially when you’re trying to grow your business and are looking for tools to help alleviate some stress of being a business owner.
Carrie: Where can we find you on social media? What is your website where we can see what you sell? How could someone order online? Share your links!!!
